The Story
I’ve spent most of my life being put in boxes that never made sense to me.
The overachiever box.
The too ambitious box.
The accountant box.
The “not an accountant” box.
The mom box.
The “she’s good at this, so that must be who she is” box.
Or worse “she’s never done this, so she can’t possibly do that” box.
The “don’t outgrow the version of you we’re comfortable with” box.
The “be grateful and don’t want more” box.
The “but…you were supposed to do this” box.
Even if the box was partially correct, it never represented the entirety of who I was.
The boxes were never the problem. The problem was that nobody ever asked what was inside me that did not fit any of them.
One person eventually did. And it changed my entire career.
I built the Genius Equation because I never want anyone to spend as long as I did waiting for that question.
